I tend to refer to my own bucket list on a somewhat frequent basis, which I urge you to have a look at for inspiration in making your own list. However, the internet obviously has more bucket list blogs to offer than mine, and many of these are really awesome! Therefore, I thought I’d share these with you. In some ways you might consider them as my “competitors”, but I don’t really perceive it like that, and I really wish to celebrate and applaud them for their lists, their efforts, and inspiring stories. And hey, it’s soon Christmas after all!
Reading other’s bucket list helps and inspires because we can’t really think of all the amazing things in this world to do, see, achieve and eat completely by ourselves. Therefore, seeing what other’s have on their list might trigger you to achieve certain goals you hadn’t really thought of before.
Particularly, it’s interesting to note how different people go about creating theirs, making those in a manner that makes sense to themselves. For example, whereas I’ve approached my list in a matter of including 1000+ small and big things, other’s may solely focus on larger goals or travel goals, or other more unique types of goals (e.g. like this Disney bucket list), or anything in between.
Great Bucket List Blogs You Should Read
So here are some of the great bloggers and bucketlisteers (is that a word?) that I have found and taken a liking to online, in no particular order. I’ve linked the titles with their respective bucket list, so that you can easily have a look at them. If you can think of other great online bucket lists, then be sure to include the name and link in the comments below as I will continously update this post.
Female Yeti
Female Yeti had a dream to travel the world with no plans, so she bought a one-way ticket to Kathmandu! With her page she seeks to inspire others to follow their own dreams. This quote by Female Yeti kinda sums it all up: “We don’t live to eat and make money. We eat and make money to be able to enjoy life. That is what life means, and that is what life is for.” Her travel-related bucket list is also really inspiring.
The Bucket List Family
They like to refer to themselves as “Just your average young family exploring the planet”, but they are far from average. They decided to steer away from building a house, settling into career and such for now and learn more about life and the world. And they do so by gorgeous and amazing travels. The father sold an app to SnapChat that he made millions on, but they embrace a minimalistic lifestyle and seek to avoid touching those money at all.
Kayla Blogs
Kayla’s blog follows her journey as she writes about various things she loves and wherever life goes, as well as helping college students and millennials make their way through life. She also has a varied and nice bucket list that addresses various parts of her life, which I really took a liking too.
TheBucketListBlog
Has a great list of 200 small and big bucket list goals set out for him, and has already achieved a substantial amount of them. The blog follows a similar mission as mine, in that it seeks to help readers take steps towards fulfilling their life goals and enriching their lives with new challenges and adventures. Also, similarly, the blog also touches upon entrepreneurship. Great minds think alike!
PersonalExcellence
PersonalExcellence covers many areas of life, and brand itself as a site for people who are passionate about achieving excellence in life. The creator, Celestine, has also made a great bucket list of 101 things she suggest doing. What I particularly enjoy with this list is the meticulous effort and research that has gone into writing about these (as opposed to just listing things, she details about the experiences, suggest resources and more).
Coffee with a Slice of Life
Sarah is an inspiring woman and excellent writer who left her job routine and started travelling many years ago. Her blog is “a [great] travel blog for solo travellers”. She also shares specific adventures from her great bucket list, and if you’re into scuba diving she’s a “must read”.
My Beautiful Adventures
Besides beautiful adventures, Andi also writes about home improvements, Chinese medicine and a lot more. Her bucket list is also really inspiring, and it’s cool to see that she has so many goals in common with me.
Emma’s Bucketlist
While Emma’s blog hasn’t been updated for years, her old blog articles are still amazing and her bucket list is huge and thought-provoking. And her story is very touching. She decided to start blogging and make a list after having lost both her parents within a short time-frame, which made her realise that life is short and that we cannot take it for granted, and thus that she were to live in the present moment and be responsible for her own happiness.
Anna Sherchand
Anna started her blog with the goal of helping others learn the skills of solo travelling and connecting with like-minded people. And suffice to say, she does a good job at it. Her bucket list is also really nice, but I think she will have issues with one of her items though, “visit Mars”. Hehe, but you never know!
BucketListBandit
A great travel and activity-oriented bucket list. Similar with me, he acknowledges that he’s terrible at writing and grammar! HOWEVER, BucketListBandit has amazing photography skills (that I truly envy — because I’m bad at that as well..). Lastly, he’s a strong believer in that if you want something bad enough you’ll find a way to get it, which I couldn’t agree more with.
Travelling Tom
Travelling Tom is a busy guy who inspires and shows that it is possible to find time to travel even when combining it with two part-time jobs, studying for a masters degree and more. Tom really inspires and shows that travel isn’t a privilege, it is for everyone. As with many travel blogs, he also maintains a pretty cool bucket list!
Ticking the Bucket List
Sonia and Ankur are a couple bitten by wanderlust and they share their adventures in tonnes of countries on their blog. They also maintain an ever-growing bucket list.
Wild Junket
Nellie is a professional travel writer and blogger with a special interest in off-grid destinations and adventure travel. Her mission is to visit every country in the world (and she has come quite far on that quest!). Her list is quite unique, and focuses on quality over quantity; she’s climbed an active volcano in Iceland, swam with sea lions in the Galapagos, built a school in Tanzania, waddled with penguins in Antarctica, crossed into North Korea and more!
Bucket List Publications
Lesley Carter shows the beauty and limitless possibilities of this world. As she says, the quote “The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences” (Eleanor Roosevelt), describes her goals perfectly. Instead of a conventional bucket list, she rather focuses on creating annual bucket list goals and go about achieving those, which is pretty cool.
The Bucket List Lifestyle
Chase was a small town guy in Oregon, living a conventional life, and settling in every area of life. When divorce and depression came, he wrote a bucketlist. A list that was used as a blueprint for a life of exhilaration, connection and adventure. Chase became an expert travel hacker, life coach and adventure addict with the passport stamps and scars to prove it! While I’m not a fan of the commercial aspects on the website, I really like Chase’s bucket list, especially how he has chosen to showcase it with images and a “completed stamp” (and the experiences themselves are really cool!).
Girl On the Move
The heart of the blog is to encourage and inspire others to live healthy lives, chase big dreams and step out of the comfort zone to new adventures and places, of which her bucket list is a reflection of that desire. While her public — she only gives us a little peek — bucket list is relatively small, she shares a lot more bucket list-related activities and experiences in her nice blog posts.
A Beard a Bike and a Bucket List
He is currently attempting to bicycle around the world with his “Regal Beagle” — how cool is that?! And I love the reasoning to it all: “Well, Why Not!”. A while back he wrote a bucket list with his friends and he tells on his website about how that event was truly inspiring and liberating, which led him to creating his website and now has culminated in all his great adventures.
The Constant Rambler
The Constant Rambler couple share travel advice and various playful stories on their inspiring adventures around the world. Moreover, their bucket list is really nice, with some really cool goals including “fly in a jet”, “go to space”, “have a Swiss bank account” and more.
The Great Wide Somewhere Travel Blog
Michelle has maintained an ever-growing bucket list since 2009! Travel is her passion which then obviously also reflects her list, and she has completed most of it. I noticed she has yet to visit Norway (my home country) though. Shame! Hehe, I’m sure it will be a blast the day she decides to go!
The Babbler Blog
Bruna from the Babbler Blog has a really cool 200+ bucket list, and the blog revolves around travel, lifestyle and adventures on a budget. She refers to herself as “just another millennial with the dream to travel the world while stepping out of my comfort zone and facing my biggest fears”. Well, Bruna, that makes two of us! I also like how she keeps track of how many goals that are unfinished and achieved, that might be something I might do to my list later as well.
Soul Drifters
The Soul Drifters, aka “The Lisas”, share a passion for travel and exciting adventures, and aim to showcase and inspire others to do the saame. It’s cool to see that they also have shark cage diving on their list. I can’t wait to do that myself one day!
Bucket List Tummy
Sarah at Bucket List Tummy is a registered dietitian, runner and food lover who seeks to help people develop healthy relationships with food and educate about healthy lifestyles. I love that she says she think all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle! *** Orders McDonald’s ***. Sarah tends to create annual and seasonal bucket lists, and her latest 2017 list is really nice. So go and have a look!
BucketListNarratives
I mentioned BucketListNarratives quite early in this blog posts actually. They are the one with the cool (and quirky) Disney bucket list! David and Laura also have a nice travel-related bucket list, and they share intriguing adventures as they check off their never-ending bucket list.

Other Cool Bucket List Blogs/Websites:
Mister Molson:
This is an amazing story where the dog owner and his family made a bucket list for their dog who has cancer and where they seek to make his last days his best days. They have done a lot of really cool things which they have shared about on their blog.
Bucket List Events
Bucket List Events is essentially a travel agency. However, what they do really well at their website is sharing interesting and valuable information about awesome events around the world. It’s not easy to know about and stay up to specific events taking place various places while travelling, so having a hub with a lot of this information is really valuable, and I find myself checking the website every now and then when planning my itineraries.
TravelerInfoHub
TravelerInfoHub has a lot of cool content and has also shared their great take on bucket list ideas which is worth a look!
Be sure to subscribe as I will cover “bucket list websites” and “country-specific bucket list blogs” in upcoming posts!
Note:
You also have those who either share their own or make suggestive articles for seasonal or annual bucket list items, which I find pretty cool. The benefit with this approach is obviously the time factor, because when you put yourself under the deadline of having to complete something within a timeframe, then you’re more likely to do it.
Think about that should you start to create your list, and be sure to read my ultimate bucket list resource guide for everything related to getting started with a bucket list, plus the three following highly relevant previous blog posts:

Jon | Bucket List Fanatic
I am working on my Bucket List, which is primarily travel based. But, I do have a general Bucket List as well! http://semmestravel.com/bucket-list/
Looks great!
